Well W123s are taxis in Africa etc , but h ere in Marin both types of cars were bought in significant numbers and there are quite a few of both daily driving from what I can see. I don’t really have an argument for either lasting longer. A diesel engine is overbuilt and people have rebuilt these several times with millions of miles, that Greek taxi has the record I think.

Having had both cars, I’d have to say the the 123 is a better put together car by a wide margin.
